Trying to format a new 3tb wd drive

I have just partitioned my new wd 3tb hard drive but i dont know how to format it.
I'm in the computer management area and when i right click on Disk1 and look at the properties i can see that its now a GPT but cant figure out how to format it to NTFS.
help?

Sorry if this is a simple fix this is my first new hard drive install.

Let me know if i need to provide more info.

Right click the disk you want to format > Format > Configure options as you please > Make sure "Quick format" is enabled > Click ok
If the space is unallocated, do this; Right click > New simple volume > Again, configure settings and start

Right click My Computer, Select manage, Then Disk Management. Right click the disk you want to format. There's a Format option in the menu.

This is how it works on Windows 7, at least.
