do amd cards run as good on pcie 2.0 than 3.0? because theyre only is 1 motherboard that supports it but is discontinued

I saw a sold out motherboard am3+ that had pci 3.0 a long time ago too and wondered the same thing.

I don't even know if AM3+ cpus would support it even if the motherboard said so

sorta like putting a sandy bridge on a pci 3.0 mobo, it wouldn't support it anyway

I know the new fm2+ mobos have pci 3.0 though.

Intel and AMD take a different strategy.

As far as I know AMD still has the pci-e controller on the motherboard not in the cpu.

Intel places most, but not all of the pci-e control system within the cpu(some still resides in the boards chipset, but what the video cards tend to use is in the cpu).

This is why with Intel CPU and Board matter, while with AMD it is all down to the board.

Do not worry, 2.0 will not cause any issues for you,
