I have a question about Hackintosh, I wanted to make a hackintosh usb on my system, but the flashdrive says it's 8GB but is only like 7.8, will it work? Also, I have an AMD system, does it make a difference?

Solution
Your flash drive is not an issue. 8 gigabytes shows up different if you have it on windows because windows uses 1024 megabytes to a gigabyte and drive makers use 1000 to a gigabyte.

It does not generally matter if you buy it or not(at least from the it is my right. same reason why modding a game console to allow downloaded games is also not considered to be legal. Apple charges a price based on its assumption that you are upgrading a system they sold you). the actual terms of use for the software is that it is not to be installed on a non Apple system. What you do is 100% your right, but it IS in a legal grey are, thus the comment about it.

I do see a sticky about it(and so do see your point Ijack), so, I guess questions are...

But if I purchase a product from apple (Like an OS X CD for example) I should have every right to be able to use the product that I paid for, even if it isn't on a Mac, and I am not even wanting to do this because my hard drive it a bit small to split partitions in, but if I ever want to, I'd want to know how.

That answer is in direct contradiction to the sticky at the head of this forum. You mods really ought to get your act together and sing from the same hymn sheet. It's a little confusing when some mods - and the site manager - say one thing whereas other mods make up their own interpretation.

With an AMD processor, if you even have to ask the question and cannot find the answer with a little Googling then forget it. It's not the easiest platform to work with. You would be best advised to look at specialist Hackintosh sites and ask your questions there.

All of the sites say it requires an 8GB Flash drive, and mine says 8 on the cover but it's not it's exact size (It's like 7.8 or 7.9) So I was hoping to know if it worked, I can find out the AMD part without much trouble.

It is hard to try to stay 100% on the line of what is right.

Either way, TwistedFury, you have your answer that flash drive is fine.

I have made a few Hackintoshes the latest using an Intel and yes it is far easier. Most new os x dont work well at all with AMD maybe someone can make it easier, it would be great to make cheap hackintosh with the new APUs. Also with the flash drive Nukemaster is right. So i have some AMD computers here I will see what can be done. I know I have gotten to work on the Phenoms but it was leopard
