Looking for GPU specific for my needs

Hey all,

I'm looking into building my own computer for the first time. I'm probably going to use this as my motherboard: http://amzn.to/19IDz4V and I'm looking for a good GPU specific for my needs. I'd probably do some light gaming every once in a while, and might possibly do some bitcoin mining. I'll be putting linux on this machine, so resources aren't really an issue, and I think that lessens the need for a more powerful GPU. Thanks in advance.

AMD GPU's are best for bitcoin mining, as they're better at OpenCL. If you have a budget of $200-$300, Go R9 270X, $150-$200 Go R7 260X. $100-$150 R7 250. Alternatively, you could see if you can find a deal on the older HD 7000 series, and find a counterpart to the R9 270X like the 7870.
