Over the past couple of months, i've noticed that the sound on my old toshiba laptop was a lot louder than sound on my most recently built PC(made mostly for gaming). I've used the same headphones and listened to the same song at maximum volume and the laptop is always a lot louder. I've uninstalled and reinstalled realtek drivers several times but the sound level has remained the same. Is it something to do with the maximum sound level set by windows possibly in the registry, or is it something else? I have realtek sound drivers on both computers except the laptop has the 32 bit version.

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite a215-s5837 (not sure of the soundcard on it)

Desktop soundcard : Realtek® ALC887 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC *2
