So up untill recently I used a cooler master geminii s524 cpu cooler and had it overclocked to 4.4 ghz stable on stock vcore. I recently replace my cooler with a cooler master glacer 240l water cooler. I have ruled out the thermal paste being the problem but I believe I may be on the trail of the cause. When I have core temp open (I'm not running my computer for more than like a minute or 2 due to high temps) it shows that my frequency is like 574 BCLK with like 7 multiplier??? But then it randomly jumps to x20 which puts my CPU in the 11GHZ range? I mean, what? I have all my settings manual in bios and all power saving options disabled. I'm currently running stock frequency and stock (i think) vcore at 1.3625 (this number by the way was set to 1.425 after the cooler switch by my motherboard). Basically, I had all the exact same settings on my mobo before the switch except for the frequency and before I switched the cooler, there was no weird frequency issues as well as no changing of the frequencies constantly either. My water cooler is running as I can feel the water in the tubes and at full capacity. I'm really lost as what to do in this situation aside from trying my old cooler again. I'm running a gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 rev 4.0 motherboard by the way. Any help would be graciously appreciated. Thanks!
