3D Vision ready BenQ XL2720T with a ATI Radeon 5970

For Christmas my father bought me the BenQ XL2720T (which is 3DVISION ready)and a set of NVIDIA 3D VISION 2 glasses. But my computer is running AMD hardware. Is there a work around (3rd party software) that will allow me to use the monitors 3D capabilities with my current set of hardware. Or am I going to have to return the monitor and look for a new one. I'd rather go through a difficult fix than try and return it.

unfortunately no..
3D vision is nvidia proprietary..
You cannot use amd hardware to run it..

get another monitor..

Even if it could it would be abysmally slow for 3D, as it draws frames from two perspectives GPU load is practically doubled. Either upgrade to something like a 760 or as above return if for something else.

Do you think AMD will come out with compatible drivers in the near future (by the end of 2014) or is the software not the problem. I am in no hurry to get the 3D part working but if it won't work in the near future it will be worth the time spent returning it.

Nope, never, its a restriction enforced by Nvidia, not that AMD don't support it.
