I was playing a game, State of Decay, when all of a sudden the game sound went down almost to mute. I thought it was a game problem but then I exited the game and tried to play a movie and music and same thing. The volume is fine and Windows shows, so far, no hardware conflict. I switched between speakers and headphones and same thing...no sound, despite Windows showing volume activity as if nothing was wrong.
Here's my current sound settings running on my Windows 7 64 bits Home Premium Service Pack 1:
Sound Video and Game Controllers:
AMD High Definition Audio Device
High Definition Audio Device
RealTek High Definition Audio
SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio
On Sound Playback, Speakers are set to SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio, and showing volume activity
Digital Audio Interface is set to SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio and showing no volume activity, despite showing a green sign on it.
How do I start attempting to fix this problem?
