I was browsing Amazon looking for a new GPU to replace my GTX 650, when I came across a Zotac GTX 560 that was 60% off up to Jan. 12! I was really excited as the new price of the 560 matched the price of the 650 when I bought it a few months ago, but when I looked at the specs of the card, it required a minimum of 450 watts, and my pre-built HP ENVY h8-1430 has a PSU of 460 watts (I do not know the brand). Is this okay for the 560?

The second problem concerning my PSU is that the 560 requires two 6 Pin connectors to work, and my PSU only has one 6 pin connector. So, I was wondering whether or not I should use the molex connectors that come with the 560, but I read up online that doing so was dangerous (or something along the lines...). I really don't want to buy a new PSU, and if it does come to that I think I might just stick with the 650...

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

You can use molex adapters, they work no problem. But more importantly why did you even buy the card in the first place? The two are practically identical in terms of speed.

Send it back and just say you can't power it, save for something like a 760, a 560 is a downgrade if anything as it will use more power.

The rated wattage is usually a huge overstatement.
As for the connector its by no mean dangerous, but its not the first choice. Many people do it, if it was harmful why would the manufacturer ship with the cables to do so?
The PSU you have probably does not have an 80+ rating, so you might be pushing it.
The 560 is really just a sidestep from a 650 by the way.

It wont affect the computer any other way. The only way it would is if it draws too much power in which case the pc wont turn on.
The 560 IS a sidestep form a 650.
It simply isnt enough power to be considered an upgrade for the most part, it does perform better in synthetic benchmarks, in game there is little difference.

Thank you all for the help, I think I might just go with the GTX 650 Ti...

Again, a pointless upgrade.

No doubt its better, I'm not disputing that, but you are putting down a hell of alot of cash for an extremely minor bump in performance, of-course it would have been better to just invest in a 650Ti in the first place, but going from one low end to another isn't worth it. Anything slower than a 760/7950 tier and you are wasting your money.

Use this as a reference.

Very good point...
But I think the fact that I'm probably not gonna get another video card in a while might compensate for that...
