I am installing my new motherboard . I am going to install windows 8.1 .
Asus website some software and drivers in this motherboards support page. I dont want to install unnecessary software .

I know some of these drivers are already installed by the OS . Which of these drivers and software do i absolutely need to install?

Management Engine Interface
Intel(R) Management Engine Interface
Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility V9.4.0.1026
Intel Chipset Driver V9.4.0.1026 for Windows Win8.1
Intel Smart Connect Technology Software V4.2.40.2357 f
Intel Rapid Start Technology Software V3.0.0.1056
ntel(R) Rapid Storage Technology Driver Software V12.8.0.1016

Solution
In many cases it does but usually I install windows then drivers for the board (need them to go online) then do win update when I do clean install.

First, always run the chipset drivers. They may or may not be needed, but it will not hurt either way

The Management Engine installs the PCI Express drivers, so you should install it second. If there is a newer version from the OS, it will simply run and exit.

The Rapid Storage Technology driver is the hard drive controller driver. It's optional, but can boost performance over the ones built into Windows. If you are running your hard drives in RAID, you should run it third as it allows you to get more control and monitoring over the drives. It also has technology to allow you to use an SSD as a cache drive for your regular hard drive, which can give you a good boost in speed if you own an SSD that is too small to use for the OS effectively.

Rapid Start Technology takes a chunk of your boot drive and sets it aside for the hibernation file that Windows creates so it can wake up from S4 sleep mode faster. You have probably seen videos of Windows starting in less than 5 seconds from an SSD, that's possible because of this software. It allows the computer to go into a lower power use sleep state than the normal one and then resume much faster than a normal full boot up. It's strictly optional, and really only useful if your PC is a power hog and you want to save some money on the electric bill and the extra 10 seconds from each cold boot is too long for you.

Lastly, the Smart Connect Technology driver allows the PC to wake up partially in a very low power state and check things like your email, and then go back to sleep; you can see videos of this on some of the Windows 8 tablets. It's really only useful on laptops or tablets, but if you use the Win8 Metro tools (Mail, People, etc.) and like them to be up to date the moment your PC comes up, that's what it will do.
