The x16 PCIe slot is connected directly to the CPU so the chipset makes absolutely no difference. How much performance he can get out of a 760 depends entirely on his CPU and the games he plays.

B75 is the newer chipset with support for newer cpus, faster ram speeds, PCIe 3.0 , and usb 3.0.
