I recently gave my friend my toshiba external hard drive but when he returned it back there were weird folders inside it.There was a autorun.inf file and a shortcut folder which i cannot open"specified module cannot be found".I had to turn on "view protected folders" to open a hidden file with no name for accesing my data. There was a "$recycle bin" and "system volume information" folder too when i turned on "view protected folders".Thanks in advance

Interesting problem! I just spent a lot of time looking for software to help get rid of unwanted system folders. I had this problem with a partition in the past, but was able to move my data and delete the volume, but I see you problem. The only programs I found is "OK'd" on C CNet as Virus free, but they do warn you that it will try to install a stupid toolbar if you don't uncheck it ( no different than CCleaner, which many of us use regularly ). So that being said, it seems that " Unlocker" simply works in the background and allows you to delete files and folders that won't normally delete. I just installed it and then ran a virus scan on my OS and the download partition and it didn't find anything, so I hope I am not recommending...
