I recently picked up an EVGA 760 2GB and I feel as if either the beta driver I am using is causing lower/unstable performance, my CPU could be bottlenecking the card, or some sort of card installation error, or perhaps all of the above, really.
Specs:
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro
GPU: EVGA GTX 760 2GB w/ACX Cooling with Nvidia 331.93 Beta driver
(OC'd at 1147 base clock, mem. at 6366) the OC isn't the most, haven't figured out the highest stable OC yet.
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 970 Black Edition (OC'd at 4GHz, cooled with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus with dual 120mm fans in push pull format)
PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX600 600W
MOBO: ASRock 970 EXTREME3 AM3+
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Any ideas? All help is always appreciated. My opinion is that even though my CPU is an older generation, at 4GHz (I could probably push it to 4.2 or so) that it would still be powerful enough to keep up with the card. I do see the usage of it go close to 90%+ on certain games, while the card has anywhere from 60-75% usage, so it still could be that. I still really think the way I installed the card, or more specifically the beta driver just seems "unstable" for my system.
