I have brought an g7 power extreme 780 watts however when I luanch my computer it doesn't display any video and beeps 2 twice with a 4 second cap between each beep. Could this be because the psu doesn't have a atx12v 4 pin connector

You don't have a 4pin put in the cpu power connector? That would make the pc not powering up.

It has a 4pin,it probably has a 8pin that you need to break into two 4pins,after that you put one half in.

My computer powers up as I am currently using it with the inbuilt gpu. And I connect my gpu by using 2 6 pin pcie connector which connect to a 8 pin connector which goes straight into the gpu to power it.

That doesn't make sence.Your gpu needs two times a 6pin peg=powerconnector put in.What has the 8pin to do with it?
So take the two 6pin pcie powerconnectors and put those into you gpu.

as you can see in that image there is a spillter cable that plugs into my gpu and 2 6 pin pci-e connecter connect into it.
