Advice on this headset? Will it work for me?

So I recently came across this headset after deciding my X12's were just too bad, and I was desperate for a change:

They are Gamecom 780's. It seems it is highly recommended and people are astounded at the performance-for-price of them. I would therefore like to ask before I click 'BUY' if they would conflict/not work with parts of my build?

My specs are as follows:

Intel i5 3570k 3.4GHz
Asus P8z77-V LK Motherboard (ATX LG1155)
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 2gb OC Windforce Edition
G-skill 8gb (2x4) DDR3-1600 RAM
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hard Drive
NZXT Source 210 Elite ATX Mid-Tower
Seasonic 520W ATX12V/EPS12V
Windows 7 Home Premium

Peripherals:
Perrix MX2000 Gaming Mouse
Perrix PX2000 Gaming Keyboard

My motherboard uses Realtek HD Audio manager and the program for it is so confusing and always messed up the audio for my X12's, i'm worried I won't find the right settings etc. Also the GTX660 uses its own integrated hd audio which I believe is 7.1 - does that mean it will just allow the features of this headset to be implicated easier?

The case i'm using has a front-facing USB 2.0 and 3.0 port, with the Microphone and Headphone jack - which is where I've been plugging in the x12's - there has ALWAYS been fizzing/popping/malfunctioning and the 5.1/7.1 doesn't work with them when I change it around via Realtek Manager, so all I can do is use Stero - or basic LEFT/RIGHT sound. Using the ports on the back seems to not register the X12's at all.

I don't know much about sound for Pc's so would appreciate your help greatly. The biggest thing is though - do I buy this headset or is there something better around for a similar price?

Thanks for your help,
