Hello everyone, my specs are....
GTX 760
Gigabyte 97A- Motherboard
8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
AMD FX 8320
850W PSU
2TB Hard Drive
Arctic Cooler 13 Fan +Two others installed
CiT Neptune Case
So I get great performance on every game basically, nearly 60 fps on most games, occasionally it drops but games like Guild Wars 2 it doesn't perform as well and I feel my friends have the upper hand with their computers. If I were to upgrade, which component should I look for first to change?

Thank you

There should be a section in your motherboard manual that explains how to disable Turbo, or any 'core boost' function. Check out the BIOS information.

There is (or at least, used to be) a 'magic handshake' to expand the BIOS menu on Gigabyte motherboards. This should also be explained in the first section on the BIOS. It used to be hitting *Ctrl-F1* at the main screen to expand the options (I'm assuming it is still the same).

The games themselves can ebb and flow as far as CPU utilization is concerned BUT there are just some titles that are wacky under the Turbo function, and simply pooch performance as some cores are *Turbo'ed* and others down-clocked.

This sometimes causes the game threads to 'hop' between the modules/cores. We...

I'd go for an Intel i5 3570K and clock it's nads off, but then you'd need a new board. I'd avoid the 4000 series as their thermal headroom is a notch lower. Guild Wars 2 (like WoW) is pretty CPU intensive but I don't think it benefits from Hyperthreading too much so it's not worth going for an i7 purely on that basis, unless you do a bit of video editing etc.

if it one game then it how the game is written that the issue and i would not replace any parts on a new rig like the one you have now. what I would do is make sure you download the newest amd chipset drivers from amd and the newest sound card and video drivers. then run cpu-z make sure your ram running at the right speed. also ask in the amd forum for some mb tweeks not to over clock the cpu but turn off energy saving so the gpu stays at it max speed. only part I would add for gaming is a good cpu cooler like evo 212. the amd stock cooler is fine but to keep the cpu from thermal slowing down you need a larger heat sink then stock.

Ok, I don't realy do any video editing so that fine, so the i5 is faster than the 8320? and what motherboard do you suggest I get with the new cpu? Is my graphics card in need of a change?

I honestly would not change anything on your rig, besides maybe overclocking your cpu (if your motherboard is good enough) and adding a cooler

The i5 and the 8320 are basically the same in gaming performance, with the i5 maybe just slightly faster but not enough to justify the cost of a cpu and motherboard upgrade

I would add in a cooler and bump that 8320 to about 4.0ghz and you would basically have an 8350, which is basically the same as an i5

You will notice little, if any, difference between the FX-8320 and the i5.

If you feel your Piledriver is holding you back, open up task manager and monitor your CPU usage. If it tends to *hop* up and down, AMD Turbo may be messing with you in GW2. The solution: disable Turbo :)

And, if you decide to disable Turbo, may as well try a little OC, where a $30 after-market cooler would be quite helpful to you.

Edit: Here is a link to (what I'm guessing) your motherboard ... verify that, and your revision:
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3908#ov

Look under Support/Downloads for your chipset drivers

Ok great, thanks, just one other question, how do I disable the turbo function? as the cpu seems to indeed hop around the place.
