I need some help guys. I haven't followed the market for the longest time and I've been overwhelmed with information the past few days while trying to choose some parts for my new system. I'll be using my old case for now and I have 2 x 1 TB HDD on sATA 2 also gonna be using my current ram that is 6 gb ( 1x 4gb kingston and 1x2gb some random that was in with the build when I got it) both on 1333mhz . I am looking to start a decent budget build. So I am looking for a MoBo, GPU, CPU for about 300 pounds and then a PSU. Any comments are much appreciated.

This is what I've stopped on so far

Or was thinking to save up bit longer and go for

Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V LX ATX LGA1155 Motherboard (£80.00 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£63.24 @ Amazon UK)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card (£135.90 @ Amazon UK)
Case: Zalman Z11 Plus ATX Mid Tower Case (£48.95 @ Scan.co.uk)

For the time being I'll be skiping case and memory so that sums to about 420 pounds.

No need for the fx6350 as it is...

I'd have to go with:
GPU: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-gainward-gtx-650-ti-boost-28nm-pcie-30-(x16)-6008mhz-gddr5-gpu-980mhz-cores-768

Purely on the basis that this is an ace card for the money.

Mobo: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/msi-970a-g43-amd-970-s-am3plus-ddr3-sata-iii-6gb-s-sata-raid-pcie-20-(x16)-atx-xfire-usb-30-gigabit-

This will give you SATA 3 ports for when you want to grab an SSD or faster HDD.

CPU: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/amd-fx-6350-unlocked-vishera-six-core-s-am3plus-39ghz-14mb-total-cache-125w-retail

I'd like to say save for an Intel build but I know what it's like having to wait. An i5 on that build would make it awesome though but the AMD is a nice alternative.

The cooler and power supply you've picked would be fine.

No need for the fx6350 as it is just a slightly higher clock speed than the fx6300 which can be easily achieved with a multiplier bump

I added a better motherboard, psu and the 7870 ghz is faster than the gtx 660

gtx 650 ti boost was my first choice but then I did some reading and seems the GTX 660 is a bit better and the price isn't that big about 10 pounds.

That seems quite good I might just go for it.

Don't use gpuboss to compare gpu's, rather look at real gaming benchmarks so you can see the real performance of the gpu's rather than raw stats

The gtx 660 is faster than the 650ti boost, but the 7870 ghz edition is faster than both and cheaper than a gtx 660. Its basically a win, win situation

Take a look at my build above in which I included a 7870 ghz edition

I am actually thinking of using that build seems quite good and in my budget.
