AMD Icon has red X

I need to get my AMD/Catalyst Control Center back to the original settings; however, I don't know what they are. I have a Sony Vaio and Windows 8. I have searched for an answer but none address my specific issue.

First what do you mean with red x? Could you upload a screenshot?
Second there are "default" buttons on every page of options

On the first screenshot the red x is over the icon on the bottom right of the screen. When I hover over the icon, it says: Color:32 Bpp, 1920 x 1080, Landscape (if that helps). The second screenshot is a picture of what pops up when double clicking that icon. There is no "default" button.. only "apply" or "discard". - - - I have 2 screenshots to upload but cannot find an upload file link.... only a URL??

Are you talking about the icon in your tray or about catalyst control centre (CCC) itself?
