Why do my games have constant FPS drops?

Before I begin I will just say this is my first time doing this so I apologise if I miss any key information out.

Hello.

Over Christmas I upgraded my PC. I changed my PCU (now a Corsair GS600) and my GPU (now a ASUS HD 7850) from a HD Radeon 6670.

I play the games Rust and War Thunder at 80 FPS on high settings but unfortunately I experience constant drops in FPS normally to about 20 - 25 FPS for about 10 seconds, and it occurs way to often to play the games comfortably.

I thought it was a hardware issue until I installed Left 4 dead 2. I play Left 4 Dead 2 on the highest settings and my FPS counter never strays from 60, it runs perfectly.

After consulting guides online nothing was working so this is why I've created this account to have this issue resolved.

My specs are:

ASUS HD 7850
AMD Quad-Core A10-Series APU A10-5800K
Corsair GS600

If you need anymore specs just ask :)

Solution
What are your CPU temps while playing? What motherboard do you have? If your CPU or VRMs are overheating, either will throttle your system to cool down. Make sure you have good airflow through your case (i.e. not just a bunch of fans randomly blowing, possibly at cross-purposes), such as rear exhaust and front intake.

I have a A55MD2
Thank you for your solution, after ziping the PCU cables together my GPU and CPU temperatures dropped hugely and I can play all my games at a constant FPS.

Thanks!
