I am at college doing computer science and I was wondering if a dual core 13" i5 macbook pro would be enough for what I would be doing on it.

Creating assignment documents,
compiling code etc...

More about : dual core macbook pro

Id strongly recommend a windows laptop since you can get a LOT better deal and have a lot better hardware and you can always make it into a macintosh :)

yh but the battery life on all the windows laptops I have seen last about 10 seconds, I need one that will last quite a while for college

well you can always buy a second battery for it but if you certainly want to buy an apple then you should look for a one with 4-cores :)

To answer your question, yes! A dual-core i5 McBook Pro could pretty much handle all that you need to do in school. However if you have srome video editing school assignments then your dual core might struggle. That is if it's really intensive video editing but if it's just the basics then I guess you are good to go!
