Hi everyone, I was wondering what would be the best upgrade from my FX 6300.

I would like to know what would be better for the money, I would be getting a Cooler Master Hyper 212 and later on upgrading to a H100i cooler from corsair.
I don't want to upgrade to the intel platform though as it would cost too much for me at the moment, so I would either want a FX 8320 or a FX 8350. But I would like to know which would be better for the money as there is about a £30 price difference. The
FX 8320 is ~£110 and the FX 8350 is ~£140.

Any help is appreciated, My current specs are below.

Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 R2.0
CPU: AMD FX 6300
GPU: ASUS Radeon HD7950 Direct CU II
RAM: Kingston HyperX Black 2x4GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9
PSU: Corsair CS650M
I also have a Disk drive and a WD Blue 1TB drive.

Solution
it will make a little difference , it is not worth the money . .
fx 6300 - 6080 points 3D Mark 11 Physics , gamers benchmark
fx 8320 -6200 points
fx 8350 -6880 points
i5 4670K - 6830 points

So your suggesting that just buying an after market cooler for my FX 6300 and over clocking it would be ok. I forgot to say that I will be using it to play and record games and then rendering them using Sony Vegas pro.

Edit:
Ahh I see so upgrading to a FX 8350 would probably be more worth the money than a 8320 would but it still isn't the best upgrade then. Instead would I be better of using the money to get a good cooler such as a H100i to overclock my 6300 as much as I can on my current motherboard and then maybe upgrading my motherboard at a later stage to get even more over clocking out of it?

Ok thanks I will probably get the CM Hyper 212 Evo as it's only ~£25 which isn't much for a pretty good cooler.
what kind of overclock should I be able to squeeze out of it with it still being stable and staying at a max of 62ish degrees C. especially when rendering video's?

Little to none in gaming but Vegas Pro will improve how much is hard to say since newer versions use GPU.

Yea I thought that most can be done using OpenGL now so I would guess not a massive improvement, however I have decided to stick with my current 6300 and get a aftermarket cooler to overclock it. Thanks for your help though really appreciate it.

Yea I think I saw somewhere someone getting that but not very well on the CM Hyper 212 though but 4.5GHz is good enough for me to be honest. Thanks for your help though.

Yea that what I'll be using from now on it will also take some of the stress of CPU so all in all a good option. Thanks for your recommendation.

Great. You should find its about 5x faster on the GPU.
