I am planing on taking my current GPUs (2 x 7850) and put them in a dedicated mining machine that I am building. This means that I will need to get a new GPU for my main rig. I was looking at getting this 780 but I really wish they still had the free games bundle. Is this the best option? I am looking to stay around that price point.

Current best single gpu is gtx 780ti, which will cost around $700. But if you wan't to stay at that price point ($550), then non-refernce r9 290 or r9 290x will be a better option.

780Ti best for being a single high performance GPU! it stays cool and hell than any other R9s.
However if you have like 500$ budget 780 is best.
if you willing for bundle nvidia GTX 780 do have 3 games bundled however you need to make sure if its available in your country.
+ R9 series comes with a Battlefield 4 code too.

290x is better for future use as it works better on high res monitors but at the moment on the current standard 1080p moitor 780ti win slightly so 290x would be good for the future but if you dont mind waiting ive heard the gtx 790 could be coming out if your willing to spend big bucks hope i helped
Personally i would go with nvidia if you want it now because the 290x is very loud so you could wait for them to make a new model which is quieter

Thanks for all of the answers. I think I may wait it out and just use my integrated graphics for now. I am sure the 290/290x will come out with some custom cooling options. My budget is around $500 so that one I chose before was $510 after rebate. I hope to be able to pay it off with my mining rig but that will take several months to see black. Nice thing is that I do not have to pay for electricity with my apartment so now is the best time for me to mine.

It's the best single GPU graphics card on the market, you won't regret it (Get a custom cooler if it's available in your country).
