Hi everybody,

I am pretty knowledgeable on computers(gaming pc's) but I do not know a thing about hosting a game server. The Games would be TF2(16 slots) and Garry's Mod (TTT, 20 slots). Internet is a solid 40 down and 20 up so I think thats good. I have some spare parts from a friend of a friend.

They are:

Intel Core 2 Quad
evga nforce 780i
Corsair Dominator 6gb
Seagate 500gb something
Corsair HX620
evga GTX 275(Is it necessary)

Also what OS is better, Linux or Windows?

I also have another set of processor/mobo from this guy, they are better but they might be overkill.

Intel 920
EVGA x58 3-sli

Any help would be nice!

Thank you,

~acciobroom

Unless you tell your ISP You will be hosting. Or you have something in your contract to say you can.. with that many players on a server they will know your doing something and then cut you off for using too much bandwidth.

My ISP is comcast and I have hosted small stuff before. Plus, lets just say we use tons of bandwith. Better safe than sorry I suppose! :ange:
