Soo i had to choose a different CPU cooler as my stock AMD one is doing a good job but sounds like a hurricane constantly running at 4000 RPM , so shall i get a hyper 212 EVO or a cheaper water cooling maintenance free one like the cooler master seidon 120m

my budget is £40

any help would be appreciated

I'd get the EVO if your case has room for it. It will perform just as well if not better than the cheaper closed loop water coolers and you don't have to worry about leaks... ever lol. I had the EVO cooling my 3770k and switched to an H80i hoping for a few more degrees on my top end, and it is pretty much the same, and with a couple decent Quiet SP 120s, you'll never know the EVO is there.

yeah but would it not be a lot cooler with water rather than air ? also i hate any noise coming from my system and dont have the budget for a couple noctua NF-F12's

how much will my temps drop by ? im getting 30 degrees on idle ith stock cooler and about 55 on load could you estimate what i could get

I can tell you that with my AIO cooler, which is very similar to an H80i, I hit a max of 42C when playing Battlefield 4 on max graphics settings w/ the heat on. Otherwise, I idle sometimes as low as 9C when the a/c is on.

ive seen people oc the same cpu as mine to 4.6 ghz from the stock 3.1ghz what would you say is safe ? also this person was using the stock amd fan

i have a MSI 970A-G43, also what are the chances of my water cooling set up leaking ? also if it leaks would it be from the pipes or radiator ?

Ooohhhh.... that's NOT a good motherboard for overclocking at all. You may even blow the VRMs if you try. Its not even a question of the cpu temperatures; the VRMs on those MSI 970-G series boards are horrible and have bad track record when more voltage is applied.

Honestly, I wouldn't. That board in particular doesn't even have a simple heatsink to protect the VRMs. When MSI found out that this board was blowing on people, they came out with the G45/46 boards which at least had heatsinks on the VRMs. Even that isn't good enough because the simple fact was just that they chose really cheap VRMs to keep cost down. I've even read posts where they over trade-up programs for people who bought those boards. Even small bumps in voltage can blow these things. It really sucks man, I know.

If I were you, I would save some cash and buy an Asus board if you want to stick with the FX cpu.

I get the same performance from my H80i that I did with my EVO 212, have a very different setup though :-/ I just always suggest the EVO because it is cheap, easy to install, and performs fantastically well. Hope you figure out what you need to bud, and I want to reiterate what CoolWoLF was saying about your mobo, a friend of mine tried a hefty overclock with his and fried everything, overclocking with an MSI 970A-G43 is not advisable :-/ Good Luck!
