I am planing to buy a new gaming headset for PC. I was looking for something at $200 (+/-20), and decided to get the Astro A40. The headset itself is about $150, but then there is a mix amp. The set with the headphones and the mixamp together is $250, but whats so special about the mixamp to shell out extra $100 for it?
Its a wired volume control, lets you choose some eq profiles and it has game-to-voice balancing. I'd need this for voice chat on console, but im on PC. If its only this it doesn't justify the $100 cost.
Or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance =)
