I use the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 and I love it.
http://www.amazon.com/Razer-BlackWidow-Ultimate-Mechani...
But i'd say that for gaming the mouse is way more important (and the mousepad) since you need precision for games like MOBA or FPS. I'd recommend the Razer Deathadder 2013 (or mamba if you're all out for it).
http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Mamba-Elite-4G-Mouse/dp/B00...
Just remember, the mousedpad is to the mouse what a sound card is to a good headphone: Indispensable.

That's why I recommended the DeathAdder first, which is a simple version of the mamba. Mamba is just if you're not in a tight budget.
http://www.amazon.com/Razer-DeathAdder-Ergonomic-Gaming...
About the Steelseries mousepad, is cheap, but it works great. I've used it a bit too. Just make sure to get the medium or the big version of it.

Hum... you don't like razer because of the Charcarias I suppose then. Razer is terrible with sound, but I think they're good with their high end mice and keyboard. Nevertheless, try out the Steelseries Sensei Raw. It's a very good choice too, used by many professionals.
Here are 3 colors for you (I personally like the black/orange one)

I personally use a SteelSeries Sensei Raw and i love it. It is an Ambidextrous mouse so it can be used with either hand. To the people discussing Razer products....I personally do no like Razer things since they have a tendency of breaking. My friend has a DeathAdder, and he was one of the few lucky ones whose mouse didn't break. As for a keyboard, I just ordered this for $80: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DKXXAIS/ref=oh_deta...
But the important thing is with mechanical keyboards is the type of swtiches inside them. Some keyboard's use different ones, like the Razer BlackWidow uses blue switches.
I will make a quick little table to describe these switches:
There are Four main switches: Blue, Red, Brown, and Black.
Before i start i must say, the force actuation isnt always accurate, i'm just using the force needed from a site: http://elitekeyboards.com/support.php?lang=en#1a
Cherry MX Blue:
Actuation Force needed: 45 - 60cN
Tactile bump?: Yes
noise: Audible click
Cherry MX Brown: 45 - 60cN
Actuation Force needed:
Tactile bump?: Yes
noise: subtle
Cherry MX Red:
Actuation Force needed: 30 - 60cN
Tactile bump?: No, linear
noise: Subtle
Cherry MX Black:
Actuation Force needed: 60 - 80cN
Tactile bump?: No, linear
noise: Subtle
So LSS (Long Story Short) When it comes to Mouses, it's about the "Feel" as well as the Durability, and little features it comes with, Like i mentioned before, I have the SteelSeries Sensei Raw and i love it. Had it for a year now and no problems, and it has two programmable buttons on each side which i use for each type of grenade on Counter-Strike. As for a Keyboard, it comes down to what type of switches you want and how you use a keybaord. You a heavy typer? Try the Black's, Like me and you want a "linear" keyboard that activates the keys easily? Try the Red's. Or you want to hear your keys and dont want to press the key's down far to activate them? Try either Blues or Brown's, Brown's for silence, Blue's for click.
As for what you should choose? Well...Which one do you want more? are you okay with your keyboard at the moment? then do a mouse. Personally i got a gaming mouse first because i felt like it was more important. So you decide, Please let me know what you decide to go with, im curious.

Oh, also, if you are wanting the mouse in a certain color, the Sensei (upgraded version of the RAW) can be programmed to use 16.8 million different color's. the only difference between the RAW and normal are the color's, and the upgraded can have multiple profiles so you can change to different preferences. As for a mousepad, I LOVE my SteelSeries QcK Medium mousepad. Very durable, easy to clean, doesn't slide, and Medium is plenty for me (I play on a fairly high DPI)

Well, Just so you know, im pretty positive that you can be shipped from SteelSeries themselves. if you go here: steelseries.com
The normal Sensei isnt really "new" it's just the the raw is a stripped down version of it, Which is fine for me, i don't care about different colors, the RAW just has White LED lights on it, and you can set it to illuminate and to keep a solid color constantly.
Sensei Raw on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Sensei-Gaming-Edition...
Normal Sensei on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Sensei-Laser-Gaming-M...
P.S. I really like the Fnatic colored one on this, looks pretty cool.
But honestly, i would just go to their website and check out their stuff. They have a few different type of mouses you can choose from.

Ahh, i follow. But if you want a specific color bad enough, you might have to use their website. Also, im sorry, but no
the RAW only has White LED lights in it. But if you got the normal Sensei, you could make the mouse wheel blue, the DPI changer key yellow and the SteelSeries LOGO to Red, or all Red.

5ms times...IS 1ms BETTER for gaming and if not, why is a longer time better?
I personally cannot say if the G500 is good. Only because i have never used it. But i know people that have it and they have only good things to say about it. The only time FPS has anything to do with the mouse is based on your DPI. Which is barely noticeable anyways, so you should be fine. I noticed it has 10 programmable buttons, which will be good for MMOs and whatever games you play. With the monitor, Yes. 1ms IS better, the lower the better. The lower the milli-second the faster you see it on your screen. But you will not notice a difference with 5ms Response Time. So you're good with that monitor.
