Changed Folder location, now seen as HDD

Hey guys. I finished with my new build and have everything I needed on my SSD. I connected my hdd and began changing folder locations to it (drive E). For the Music Folder though instead of entering "E:\Users\Me\Music" I entered only "E:/" and now is being seen as the hdd. Whenever I try to change the properties of the folder it is being seen as the hdd now, so i cannot. Anything I place in that folder also shows up in the E: drive, and vice versa. Am I creating duplicates for everything I place on E: drive? I figured I can create another Music folder but not sure if the folder will create any problems in the future. Thanks, I hope this made sense.

What you should have done is create a folder structure on E, and the relevant subfolders under that

Top level - MyStuff
Subs of MyDocs, MyMusic, etc.

In Libraries....see this tutorial for exactly how to change to the new location:

Under the Folder Properties, Location is where I was making the changes. For all the new folders I'll create a new folder structure, thanks for the advice. My worries is with the folder thats now being seen as drive E. will create a problem later on. Or that everything placed in the HDD is being duplicated in that folder thats being seen as drive E.

It should only be in one location. Do a search for one of the specific file names. See if it turns up twice.

It looks like any files are only coming up once. I forgot to mention when I try to Restore Default for the Location I get a "Failed to build the list of regular subdirectories under "E:\System Volume Information". Access is denied."

Every drive has one of those. You cannot touch it.

Hi I have the same problem, did not solve it yet but this might work: try to deactivate system restore for this drive, as System Volume Information refers to this and is protected to avoid losing your restore points.

Okay I have the solution (not what I mentioned above). Click on restore to default location but when it asks if you want to move the files in the folder say "no". Then create the folder at the location you want to move it, then select this folder when changing the location. You can then move the files manually in the new folder.

Hope this is clear and helped.
