A 7870 should easily get you med settings if you are turning AA off. I run a 7950 with 4 monitors. When gaming I'll often run at 5760x1080. I can usually get high settins with up to 2x AA. With no AA I can get close to maxing a lot of games. As far as upgrades, an R9 280 or higher would be a good move for you. The 590 you keep mentinoing has a limited amount of RAM compared to newer cards. When mult-monitor gaming, you want 2 gigs of ram minimum, 3 gigs is the sweet spot, and 4 gigs is more the future planning. As far s crossfiring your 7870, I"d have to go against that Idea. I run crossfire using 2x 7950's. Works great for single screen gaming, but AMD still has not addressed the frame pacing issue for Crossfire setups running EyeFinity.
Well how much can you get the 590 for and what is your budget? You would be much better off just getting a gtx 770. It will perform pretty close to the same as the GTX 590 but use A LOT less power and you won't have to buy a new PSU.

That would work also... I personally like nvida better this go around. They run cooler, if you can get a non-reference cooler 280x that would be an option too. I'd still get the 780 myself :). The 770 2gb would be fine at that res for most games some you might have to lower the AA a bit.

well im not using any aa or any of the other vram eaters

If you are willing to spend that amount get a GTX 780 ti, its cheaper and you get more usable ram (3gb vs 2gb) and you don't have to worry about any of the SLI issues some games have. I personally use a gtx 780 ti and I play at 5760x1200.

It is your call but I would just spend the $350-$400 on a gtx 770... It is going to cost you 300 for the 590 and another 75-100 for the psu... And you will pay more for electricity with the 590... and be limited to 1.5 gb of ram.
