Hello!,

I had some questions about my specific motherboard and what kind of PSU it could handle, my friend advised me to ask here so any help would be appreciated.

My motherboard:

It's an old Dell computer (I believe inspiron 570), around 4-5 years specs:
Ram: 4gb
Graphics: Radeon HD 4200
CPU: AMD Athlon II x2 240 2.8 GHz
MOBO (screenshot above): 04GJJT

Anyways I'm wondering if my computer will be able to handle a decent PSU for example a Antec VP450 450W Continuous Power Supply, im looking to run again a decent GPU, for that I need a better PSU, decent meaning like the ati radeon hd 5570 or a bit better.

The PSU I had in mind: http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=3...

Also if anyone knows the maximum PSU I would be able to get?

I appreciate any advice / help and would be really thankful to anyone who can help out.

Edit,
another question:

I just got a EVGA GeForce GTS 450 graphics card, would that work with my computer? Given I got a 450 watt power supply.

Also my computer case is micro atx (I believe), so I would need to get a miro atx PSU correct? I can't seem to find many micro atx psus which concerns me.

The size, power of a power supply etc doesnt matter for your motherboard, you could put 2 corsair ax1200w units in there and nothing would happen. Just measure the one you want to buy and compare it to the one you have right now to make absolutely sure it'll fit :)

Yes, that psu would work with your motherboard and is more than enough for a 5570

Though, the 5570 is quite old, maybe look at a 7750 and that would be more decent

Thankyou both for the fast answers! I really appreciate it, it seems I was overthinking my little problem but anywho I'm happy to know that PSU will work with it.

Also I wil check out the 7750, I only put the 5570 there because I wasn't sure if any higher would be compatible.
