My desktop won't turn on. The light on the motherboard is on. However, the fan does not work. Prior to this I have not turned this computer on for a couple of months. It was working fine before. I don't know much about computers and am at a loss as to where to begin. Any help would be appreciated.

Mhm... Could be a problem with the processor. If the motherboard light is on, that indicates that both the PSU and the board work.

Just recently built a Dell Vostro 200 and had the same problem. Took it to Darren at my local computer shop and he told me that the motherboard standoffs were loose and the motherboard power cable was also kind of loose. Check to see if U left any of the nails on the standoffs loose. Also make sure that the motherboard power cord is not too loose and if so then push it in harder. Also check to see if everything is connected properly. This helped me with my situation and it should help U too.
