I'm looking to make my first build a budget one. Planning on buying and assembling sometime in February. Sorry for the re-post. I just want to get a wide sample of opinions. Here is what I have so far.

CPU: AMD FX-6300
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

RAM: G.SKILL Sniper 8GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Power: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Hard Drive: Western Digital WD Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

CD Drive: ASUS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Case: Forget what it's called, but I have a link somewhere :/

I'm missing a motherboard and video card. Any suggestions? If I can get a much larger bang for my buck by increasing my budget to $800, I'm open to ideas. I also have an old unused Vista copy...would it be worth the $90 to buy windows 7/8?

Also, if you see any cheaper variants of the same caliber parts, please let me know! Thanks!

Here you are, the PSU might want swapping out but it isn't that bad. Try using Vista, although make sure it is 64 bit then if you need to get windows 7 or wait for the next thing after 8.

Till you play something nice and heavy on the CPU then it bottlenecks the GPU. Also I left the case as that is up to him to decide.
