Hi, first time posting on this forums i had a quick question about a replacement cpu fan i was looking at. My Processor is Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q6600 and my dead cpu fan is d60188-001. I purchased a D34052-001 they both look similiar but I noticed the specs were a little different, would it be alright to use this cpu fan as my replacement?

Edit : here are some links with the cpu fans

D34052-001

d60188-001 :
http://www.made-in-china.com/showroom/johnzmj/product-detailnMJxZmGuBUri/China-Intel-Original-CPU-Cooler-D60188-001-.html

They are both identical except the first fan says "For use in Pentium D, Pentium Extreme, up to 3.00GHz Socket 775 Motherboards" and the second fan which is the stock fan i got with the cpu says "up to Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 (2.66 GHz)".

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Try to see how many fins each has. I think the core2 quads had this fins split to get more surface area.

Chances are you can just swap the fans from one to the other as well.

Also some of the lower end cpus had a aluminum base and not copper.
