Upgrade to a 7870 from a 560ti?

Hi guys.

I posted a topic earlier about whether or not to upgrade my gpu at this current time. And i was given a link to a 7870, which obviously intrigued me, I went to the link and it's selling for £130, compared to the normal £204, I know that that's extremely cheap for the card but would the upgrade to the 7870 be worth it? Thats my main question, would it be a noticeable difference to my 560ti?

As an upgrade you'll definitely see a difference, especially if the current card has 1Gb of memory.
A quick look shows the HD7870/R9 270 starting at about £140 so, to my mind, they count as one choice if you exclude the 'X' version.
The next step up is the GTX760, starting at around £190 after which you're into R9280/GTX770 pricing.
If you can hold off though you'll be better off with the GTX760 or even R9 280, in the long term, they're much better choices for a nearly new rig and a 1080 monitor.

The 760 is a no go because its another £50 with roughly the same performance.... but isnt the 270x basically a 7870, just rebranded, again its another £40. Annoyingly I dont have the money atm

or get a 270x instead bro , but i think you should few weeks price might fall down a little since they were lower and now they are little higher
but you can find a asus OC r9 270x for 220$ on amazon though

We really need to know the full system specs-including monitor/s res. Hint, hint...
The performance difference between the HD7870 and R9 270X (note the 'X') is minimal: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/R9_270X_Gaming/
the normal R9 270 is actually a bit slower.
Frankly the HD7870 isn't far off the 7950 and my 7950/i5 750 has no real problems at high/ultra@1080 res.
For £130 it's a HUGE steal, and it's not alone, I've spotted a couple of UK E-tailers selling 7870s at similar prices.
As an upgrade for an older system I'd recommend it instantly, if you're using a later build with a fast CPU, I'd hold fire.

Monitor: I use my Samaung 32" TV 1080p

The r9-270x is basically a 7870 with a higher clock speed. Both have the same pitcairn chip. If you can get the 7870 or a 7870XT/LE (powercolor myst) at a decent price then go for it.
