I'm looking at either getting the AMD 6400k and running the integrated graphics or a FX-4130 and using a sapphire 4830 512mb card I have laying around. The FX would be $10 cheaper. What's the best combo for htpc and possibly light gaming?
I'll be running it in a rosewill challenger. I know, not ideal for it's purpose, but it was super cheap. I'm also considering upgrading the gpu down the road. Possibly a r7 260x. If I do, would the 6400k still be the best decision?
How about the Athlon X4 740K ? Its about $90
Its a quad core APU with the graphics disabled . Each core is considerably better than the 4130
You get the same FM2 [ or better still an FM2+ ] motherboard
and use your graphics card

Thank you for the suggestion. I will be purchasing from Microcenter and for the A6-6400k including a basic motherboard it's $79.99 before 6% tax. The FX-4130 with motherboard is $69.99 before tax. http://www.microcenter.com/site/products/amd_bundles.aspx
I actually have a A6-5400k I originally bought for the HTPC, but am considering using it for a budget build to sell. This is why I'm looking at the 6600k and 4130.
