Hello everyone. I have recently baught a new PC with the asus M5A99FX PRO REV 2.0 motherboard. The sound worked before I installed Kali Linux on a USB drive and Booted live and partition the 1TB drive to 20gb smaller to install Kali Linux with GParted Partition Editor. After I installed Kali Linux and booted to windows and my adio suddenly weren't working anymore. I have tried reinstalling my drivers, restarted my PC many times. I also made sure my Headphones are on high volume. I tried speakers, headphones, in-earphones, and other headpnones. All the above devices work, cause I tested it on other Player such as my phone. I got to the part where I formatted my HDD to a clean state and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and it didn't work either. Can Someone please help me with a solution. I have been for many hours on the internet searching for answers and solutions. It say it's playing in windows media player and the volume are not muted and the green bar is going up and down. The right device is also chosen. The games I play have also no sound. Windows media center, firefox, VLC media player, nothing have sound but it are showing clearly it's playing but there is no sound. I have the latest driver installed.

I might not have read/understood everything, but if you're on Windows right now, go down to the right side where the time is.
Find the volume/speaker icon. Right-click, select "playback devices" Choose the right speaker and it should be fine :)

I have tried everything on the sound settings. even after windows installation it doesn't work. on other operating systems it also doesn't want to work. The sound is also enabled in my Bios settings. I have a Nvidia graphics card. It may be something with that. I don't know. I am farely good at fixing computers. I do it alot but this time I can't fix it.
