Razer Megalodon Firmware Updater fails every time I try to use it and my headset isn't recognized by windows because of this. I have installed TONS of drivers for my computer (which I just recently build) but this problem still happens... I've tried all of my usb ports 2.0 and 3.0 and it still is never detected. I tried putting the headset in restore mode but the updater just always fails every single time. I've tried every single other solution others used that worked for this issue and i'm just stuck here with a failed updater and no way to update my headset.

I have an ASUS MAXIMUS HERO VI mobo and it was an open box from newegg so maybe it has something to do with that?

I have the same problem with my Asus Gryphon Z87. The megalodon works perfectly on every other computer I've tried it on, but doesn't seem to like the Asus board. I bought the Gryphon new, so I doubt that yours being open box is an issue. When I looked for a solution for it, I was never able to find anything that worked. I realize none of this is very helpful to you, but I wanted to throw it out there before you RMA the board.

The updater failed on my computer with w7 32 bits and since this time, 2 lights at the right and left of the Maelstom buttons are flashing and the device is no more recognized.
How could we go thru this problem as even the factory reset is not working.

I fixed this issue a long time ago. I just bought a powered USB hub and plugged my headset into that. It works completely fine if the headset is connected through the hub and not directly into my computer.

Thank you very much, I bought a powered USB Hub and it works immediately, the Megalodon headset is recognized again. Probably it is linked to powered USB by this is not very logical. Anyway thank you again, it is a good headset even the software drivers are not at the level of the hardware.
