Power Supply - How much is beyond useful?

I am currently in the process of selecting parts for a gaming computer that I plan to build myself, and have selected the components I'm going to buy. I'm comfortable that I have found what I need, however I know very little about power supplies so I thought I would ask you guys. How powerful is enough? My build would include an Intel Core i-7 4770 CPU, a single (and later on, dual SLI-Config) Nvidia GTX 770, 8 gigs of Corsair Vegeance 1600 Mhz DDR3 RAM (maybe an additional 8 at a later point), a 2 tb 7200 RPM HD, an ASUS Z87 Pro motherboard (ATX), and an Asus internal 16X Blu-ray drive. This would be housed in a Corsair Carbide Series 300R mid-size tower case, which I am confident would fit the SLI dual-GPU setup, and as large a PSU as is necessary. When I add all the components into the calculator at thermaltake.com, with all components functioning at 100%, it says this setup will use 735 W of power. I know that it's good to have a PSU with a higher power rating then the sum of the power needs of each component added together, and good power efficiency as well. I don't want to skimp out in this department, neither do I want to have to pay more that I have to if possible. Originally, I was looking at the Corsair HX1050 1050 watt PSU (80+ Gold certified), however the Corsair AX1200i 1200 watt PSU (80+ Platinum certified) also caught my eye. Which would suit my needs better, or would something else entirely fit the bill better? I would simply go with the AX1200i, in the hopes that higher is better, however because there is a substantial price difference, and I don't now if the extra wattage would even make a difference, I figured I would ask you guys, who actually know, as this is my first build.

Thanks in advance! Sam.

PS. I would not be overclocking any components.

Thanks! So even 1050 would be a bit overkill? I guess my only worry is that because I would be running some of the newest games at maximum, or nearly maximum settings, I want to keep things well away from overheating (I know this has to do with fan number and placement in the case as well), or being too close to the psu limit.
