Hi everyone, recently I won a gtx 780ti in a contest (which shocked me because I never win anything), and I was wondering, since I already have a gtx 680, should I sell the 780ti and get a second 680 and do sli, or should I sell my 680 for the extra cash and stick with the 780ti.

I'm a stickler for 60fps or higher and I currently use a 1080p 60Hz monitor, but in the future I'm going to look into 4k gaming when it becomes a more affordable option. What do you think I should do?

Thanks for any input.

Edit: to elaborate a lite more, I think that I could possibly sell the 780ti for 700, buy a 680 for 300 (used) and have 400 left over in cash. Or I could keep the 780ti and sell the 680 for 300.

If you're looking to eventually move onto 4k res, I would keep the 780 Ti. Performance wise, two 680s would likely out perform a 780 Ti. My reasoning is that 770 is similar to the 680, although faster, and two 770s are fairly faster than a single 780 Ti.

But all things considered, I'd keep the 780 Ti, congrats on winning btw.

Do you think it would be wise to sell the 780ti and wait for the 800 series cards, because I'm assuming they won't be listed at a much higher pricetag when released.

Is the 780 Ti you won come in the box? It would sell more if it's unused, but I don't know if it comes with a warranty or if the warranty would transfer when it sells, so you aren't going to be able to sell it for the full price unless you can send it back to the manufacturer.

The 680 is more than enough to last you until the 800 series though, so as much as it sounds like "Wtf sell the 780 ti? are you nuts?" it might actually be a decent idea.

I know I'm asking for speculation but do you know when roughly the 800 series will likely be released at what price point. Thanks.

Some of the earlier 800 series will be out pretty soon, or so I've heard, like in the february/march timeframe. The ones truly worth getting with 22nm technology won't be until much later this year, I've heard july/august and nov. dec., so no one really knows.
