Will a 750 w power supply be sufficient or should I consider 850 w

Title says it all. Would rather ask for real hand experience then go by the estimated wattage pcpartpicker posts.

Thanks

  1. Most people on this forum will tell you that with a GOOD 750W PSU, you can easily pull off SLI 770s.

Personally, I went with an 860W PSU as I feel more comfortable, so the ease of mind was my reason for going with 860W.

Depends, a high quality 750w unit would be ok, but a lower quality one wouldn't. Personally I'd go with a good 850w psu to make sure I had good amount of headroom. Also If you want 16GB of ram get 2x8Gb sticks instead of 4x4Gb.
Here's an example of a good 850w PSU

  3. So a Seasonic 750w gold rated would suffice? Whats the benefit of having 2x8Gb sticks when the 4x4Gb are cheaper
  4. With 4 sticks you may have to play with voltage and timings to achieve stability. The price difference isn't that much.

  5. A quality 750w at a great price.
