Ok, so I built a machine.

Here's what it has right now:
Corsair Obsidian Series 650D case
Corsair HX Series HX850 power supply
AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz Eight-Core Desktop Processor FD8350FRHKBOX
ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z AM3+ motherboard
SAMSUNG 840 Series MZ-7TD120BW 2.5" 120GB SSD <- this is the boot drive
Samsung 840 EVO MZ-7TE250BW 2.5" 250GB SSD
HIS H797QMC3G2M Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition

Now, the question is about the RAM.
It has 16gb of non-gaming optimized memory in there. It's not even the fastest the motherboard can handle. I don't remember but it's probably DDR3 1066.
How much would upgrading the memory improve my system? Is it bottlenecking it right now? What will it affect? FPS? What?
What should I get to replace that? Should I add more and leave those in there and make it 32gb or is it better to remove those and get a faster 16gb pair?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys!

You would either have to get more of the same frequency ram or switch it out for any amount you want of higher frequency. It probably would not be worth it to upgrade though ram speeds don't make THAT much of a difference, you certainly aren't bottle necking your system
