NOTE: This thread is also in the motherboard section. Sorry for the double post, but I realized this is the better place for it to be. :)

So I just finished building my new pc and when I powered it up, there was no video output. I believe I plugged everything in right. My 8 pin cpu connector is in. I have the fans running including the gpu and cpu fans, but thats about it. I dont have a sound thingy to listen to beeps, but I tried headphones in the headphone jack: nothing(idk if that actually works). I have an asus motherboard that has the dram led. It is on and I tried the Memory Ok feature to no avail. I believe there is something wrong with the ram because of the light, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any solutions for me to get video? Please ask me for any more info that could help you diagnose the problem.

UPDATE: I tried the thread about the no video output. -> http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-ste...

Solution

I have found the problem. It was a bad RAM connection. I just took the RAM out and cleaned it and it worked.

yeah, this vga adapter was supplied with the video card and i made sure to plug it in the right dvi socket. can you tell me whether or not the system is booting because the fans are running or if they have no correlation.
