I just was curious if there are any noticeable ways to improve performance on BF4, I've got a surround display and I want to run the game on ultra without making any changes to my hardware atm. I'll list my system specs down bellow, one thing to mention would be that I'm also running the game from an SSD. I also have 2 GTX geforce 680's with SLI enabled. I've noticed some pretty bug lag spikes lately so I jotted the resolution down a notch and that seems to be doing the trick but I would like the resolution to stay at 5760x1080. :)

Solution
Think the only real way to make BF4 smooth as butter is to install windows 8 sadly. I get around 30 - 40FPS on Locker indoors on low with a FX8320 4.9ghz and 2x5850's with the 13.12 drivers. Windows 8 it shoots up to 70 - 90FPS on high on the same map same hardware at 1080p.

You can try a user.cfg to help improve the game a bit, It wont fix the horrible hit detection. http://www.adkgamers.com/topic/36475-dynastys-bf4-optimization-for-smooth-gameplay/ Read the 2nd comment because its not RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 0 its RenderDevice.RenderAheadLimit 0. You even may like to try 1 instead of 0 for smoother gameplay on some systems.

Any opinions on whether or not I should leave hyperthreading on or if I should disable it?

Honestly, I don't think it would make much of a difference, I have never ran an i7 with BF4 for long periods to know, most i7 build I mess with either have enough horsepower (video card) to where that wouldn't be much of an issue. I have seen where it helped a few people, but I mean you bought and i7, why turn that off? You can test it and see and make your own decision, But I certainly wouldn't turn things off that you spent extra money on just for a game, just means EA needs to get their heads out their... you know what... and fix this game to properly use the i7.
