Windows has determined that the driver for your device is up to date

Above is the message I am getting from the Device Manager when I try to update the driver for my sound device, but I am convinced this is not correct, and would greatly appreciate some advice, or instructions on how to find my driver....

I recently was forced, due to hackers, to reinstall Windows 7 from scratch, and I am getting warnings that my audio drivers are not functioning correctly when I try to record sound from the computer. The only information that Windows will give me is AMD High Definition Audio Device, but that is not enough to find the correct driver on the manufacturer site, and I need more information concerning the model of my sound device please!!

Below is my DxDiag information, which may help some:

Can someone PLEASE tell me the model, so that I can get the correct drivers from the AMD site??
Oh yeah, and thanks in advance for any assistance!!

Well It`s easy.

All you have to do is click on your start pearl of windows 7.
Next in the search box type : system info

Click on the system information icon.
Once system information opens look at Bios version date.

It will tell you the bios version of the board, The company that made the board, and the board model number.

Simply write it down and then do a Google search with the information.
You should find the website of the board maker.

And from there click on the support section where they will have a driver for the sound chip set for the motherboard you have.

For example I can tell you that is a Realtek HD audio chip.

I am well aware that it is an AMD device, but that does not really help....
I have been to the AMD site to look for the driver, but they want a specific model number, and all I get from my computer, including from System Information is High Definition Audio Device....
There is no such device listed on the AMD site, and I need a more specific name for it to update the driver manually??

Hey Kendrivers,
Thanks for the links, but they will not seem to work for me, because the solution presented requires me to retrieve and enter data which is not present on my system. First of all, the instructions provided are claiming that I need to open the Device Manager, and go to the device that is missing a driver, butthere is no yellow question mark on the page....
So, instead I opened the Sound, Video, and Game Controllers, and chose AMD High Definition Audio Device, and rick clicked to chose Properties. After this, following the instructions provided, I opened the Details tab, and the drop-down menu trying to find Device IDs to get the code sequences asked for. Unfortunately, like the yellow question mark, there was no Device IDs on the drop down list, so instead I chose Hardware IDs, and got the sequences from there. This was different than the instructions provided, but now I had the sequences, or so I believed. The instructions continue to ask for a vendor code to enter in the page provided to find the drivers by the codes, but there is no sequence of the right size provided, which was X_XXXX. This is six characters, all numbers, but I could see nothing that matched that, and the sequences I found were, HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_1002&DEV_AA01&SUBSYS_00AA0100&REV_1002, and HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_1002&DEV_AA01&SUBSYS_00AA0100. So, I am not clear how this page can be useful to me??
Nonetheless,I am thankful for you taking the time to post the links!!

You only need the four characters after VEN and DEV. For example in VEN_1002, 1002 is the vendor number, and DEV_AA01, AA01 is the device ID which is listed in the charts from the website as 0xAA01.

Looking at your first post and Vendor and Device ID I found the following:
"Chip Number: FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_1458A002&REV_1002
Chip Description: xHDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_104383BC&REV_1002\4&159EE542&0&0001
Notes: Realtek High Definition Audio Driver http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false "

After looking at you last post I found, for Vendor 1002 and Device ID AA01, the following:
"Chip Number: Ati Function driver for high definition audio1
Chip Description: Ati Mobility Radeon HD HDMI Audio realtek
Notes: http:// www.kronnus.com.br/download/TAC5M60/audio.rar "

Hi again,
I tried the link you posted, and even installed WinRAR to open it, but when I ran setup I got an error that said We can't find HD Audio Device?? So, I am not sure if this is the correct driver for my system, or not....

Nevermind, it seems that what you posted was not the one for my system, but just an example....
I entered the vendor, and device IDs for mine and found the correct information, but it did not provide a download link to me, and when I clicked on the vendor link all it did was reload the search page again?? Actually, it reloaded a page called, PCI Vendor and Device Lists, which also did not seem to have a download link on it....

Sorry that did not work. I was really hoping to help and hope someone can since I couldn't. If I think of anything else I will let you know.

No problems friend, I found another software application that accomplishes the same goals for me, and does not rely on audio drivers at all....
I greatly appreciate the time you took to help me with this!!
