I just installed my new EVGA GeForce GTX 650 1024MB GDDR5 DVI mHDMI Graphics Card into my HP Envy. It's running an i5 core processor. Upon installation, we lost visual. Furthermore, the keyboard and the CD Rom drive cease to operate. After removing the card and running off the on-board graphics, the problem is still apparent. What could be the root of this problem?

Solution
It must be the motherboard then. Some of those motherboards on prebuilt systems like HP can't handle the extra power. So there is no response from the monitor? Did you plug the connectors back into the motherboard properly after reverting back? Are the CPU or case fans spinning when you turn the system on?

How many watts is your power supply? Did you make sure the wattage could support the GPU? Did you install the drivers properly for the GTX 650? Its odd that the keyboard doesn't work because its a peripheral and not in the computer. This could point toward the motherboard. From what I am thinking the two components that have the possibility of being the culprit are the 1. The motherboard and 2. The PSU.

The PSU is 700 Watts. It should not have been an issue from what I read about the card. I was leaning towards it being a mobo issue because there is still no visual with reverting back to on-board video. We even went as far as to running the system with the factory PSU.

Yes. The fans are still running as usual. Upon speaking to a buddy of mine, it appears that this particular computer has had several issues with their motherboards. We're actually going to be bringing the system back since it is still under warranty (it is less than one month old) and we're going to see if it can be either repaired or just replaced entirely. Thank you for your timely response, I appreciate it!
