So i bought a D-Link router about a year ago, it disconnects me randomly sometimes every 3 hours, other times every 15 minutes. I have tried everything that i can think of to make it not disconnect from the internet, every light is green when it works and the lights are still green when it does not work. I have updated it to the newest firmare version to see if it will help, but the results were the same. I have searched throughout this site to find an answer but none are similar to mine (that I have searched), so I decided its time to ask them myselves. What do I do to make it not disconnect from the internet.

I used a D-Link DIR-655 for years before upgrading to the Asus I have now. With the D-Link, I found that if I used static ip addressing, the network was more stable but even with that, every so often, it would just drop.

I was much more stable than what you are. The every so often I mentioned was once every month or two. Dropping every few hours would have me contacting D-Link about repair. They warranty for a year. You might be able to get them to replace it.

I would still give them a call. They may extend the warranty or perhaps they have run into this problem and have a simple fix.

Worse case scenario, you may have to buy a new router but a cheap fix may still be possible.
