Hi. Although I have sought advice from this site for a couple of years now, today I became a member and want to ask my first question. It involves the new Corsair H100i liquid CPU cooler I just received from Newegg.

I removed it from the box and inspected all of its contents carefully. Everything is in order, but on close examination I see that there are two spots in which the radiator fins are bent. One area is very small, with only about three fins slightly bent. The other area is a bit larger -- a rectangular shape about 3/8 inch long -- with approximately six fins bent in almost flat.

I am a disappointed to receive my item with blemishes on it. If this is only an aesthetic issue, and will not effect performance in any way, I may decide to keep it so as to begin using it soon. But if it could raise any other issues, I should send it in for an exchange.

This is the first time I will be installing and using a liquid CPU cooler. So, if someone can tell me how much of a problem this is, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

In my opinion, send it back. Bent fins could put stress on the tubes and create a leak. Even if it doesn't, you paid for good parts. You should have good parts.

Okay. Thanks for your reply. I was willing to overlook it, so I could start using it now, if it would have no effect on its performance and/or longevity. But I will be happier in the long run knowing I have the flawless item I paid for. So, I'll be getting it replaced.

Thanks.
