Hi, I'm new here. My name is Greg. First, a little background. My current desktop at the moment is a Dell Dimension 3100 that I bought on 2007, I upgraded the video card on it to NVIDIA GEFORCE 9400 GT and it's a Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.06GHz 2GB OF RAM. I have not been a big PC gamer in the past, but I usually play Counter Strike 1.6 on steam and it runs pretty bad, I tried installing other games but it would not work. Building a PC has always been a goal of mine, since I was younger. I just never really had the resources or a real reason to do it. I just would like to get a PC that can run smooth, watch livestreams, movies, videos etc. Also that I can use it for my blog, photoshop. I dont think I will be playing any other game besides counter strike Global offensive or 1.6 still. I would appreciate any help.
PS: I have a dell monitor, mouse and keyboard already.

Approximate Purchase Date:
Until the end of this Month ( January)
Budget Range:
$600-700 including tax
System Usage from Most to Least Important:
Watching streams, movies, photoshop, my blog and gaming.
Parts Not Required:
Keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers and Operating system.
Preferred Website(s) for Parts:
To be honest the cheapest and most reliable, I heard newegg, tigerdirect and ncix is good but like I said i have never bought anything from then.
Country:
Canada, Ontario.
Overclocking:
I'm not sure what this is .
Monitor Resolution:
my monitor uses 1280 X 1024
Additional Comments:
The back of my pc at the moment faces the wall and I have a window on my left, not much ventilation on the pc to be honest.

Thank you Smorizio for those options, so you think I should wait until the 800 line drop in a few weeks ? Also i5 and AMD , what's the difference ? Thank you brother.

i would wait for the 800 when it drops there going to be a price drop on the older cards and with some of amd cards.
the amd cpu if your low on cash is not bad cpu for gaming. amd mb though are not keeping up wirh intel and intel newer memory controllers that built into the cpu. amd mb most are pci 2.0 speed. newer intel z77 and z87 are pci 3.0 speed and have sata 6g ports.

Did they said the exactly date it's going to be out on the market? Well the gaming I will be probably playing will be counter strike on steam pretty much, and I will mainly use it for my blog, streams, movies,Photoshop and things like that you know. Also I noticed that on the parts that you suggested me to purchase doesn't have any video card added to it, I guess it was due to the fact that the newer ones will be out soon and the other ones will be dropping on price? Thank you again brother.
