Need an opinion if there's any major damage to MB

Hi guys, first time computer builder here and I was wondering if I could get some reassurance of what might have happened tonight.

I was installing my Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo onto my motherboard and got the brackets and screws all screwed in snug. Once I had my motherboard seated into the case, I noticed the cpu cooler turned a bit (I'm assuming due to the thermal paste). So I decided to tighten the screws a bit more just in case the cooler wasn't on properly.

I may have over-torqued the bracket screws onto the motherboard and saw a little bit of damage located around the hex type nuts.

Have I ruined my board? Or is the area around these susceptible to a little damage in case of over torquing?

I don't have all my components yet, waiting on shipping, but figured I'd get a head start on the install once things arrive so I cannot test it yet.

Thanks guys. Motherboard: ASUS Z-87 Pro

Chances are, you didnt damage anything. Finish the job and see what gives. Plastic scuff on the board surface is a sign of over tightening, but the copper bits matter not the plastic. Be careful next time

No flex or cracks, just looks like scraps around the hex nuts, kind of white in color. Is this plastic damage of the coating? Also are there any components underneath this area that could be affected? Thanks guys for the quick replies.

It's got me worried sick thinking I've ruined it.

You're probably fine then. If there's components anywhere near the screws, that's a major design flaw on Asus's part. You've probably just scraped some of the colored coating off the top.
