I have an old NES with no components in it, just the case itself (along with the power and reset bottons) Going to try and build a small gaming/HTPC inside it. I have a few parts in mind that I am going to use. If you guys have other suggestions on PSU's or anything then feel free to tell me also

Still deciding on a MOBO, but the few I'm looking at right now are

Then RAM, optical drive, HD/SSD (maybe), wifi adapter (probably a USB one, to minimize the parts inside the case) and a sound card maybe. I need the parts to be small, the NES case is 10 inches by about 7 3/4 inches, and vertically it is about 3 1/4 inches tall, but in reality I need everything to be a few CM shorty than the dimensions because of plastic and other crap in the case (mostly the vertical height of it, since there are a couple plastic stubs at the bottom that go up a couple CM. I plan to shave off as much plastic as I can.
Has anyone had a built like this before?
Does anyone have other recommendations of parts I should use? I'm trying to look for parts that are relatively fast/power and also small. Just powerful enough to play most current PC games (not on high though, medium is fine). And this will be getting plugged into my TV, so I am going to be needing an HDMI port.
i've already done research on the CPU/GPU combo and I've read that it can play games fine.
I am also thinking about just getting an external CD/DVD, and just plugging that in after its build and have it sit on top of the NES, that way I don't have to have as much stuff in the case, because I am trying to have the PSU and motherboard inside, along with the ram, and relatively good cooling (going to install a couple fans inside the case) Do you guys think I will be able to fit everything inside the case? Preferably the motherboard, cpu/gpu, ram, SSD/HD, and PSU. CD drive does not NEED to be in the case, as I stated above.
Also thinking about just getting a SSD since they are smaller and it could easily fit inside the case. They are quiet a bit more than regular HD, so I was thinking about just getting a 100 gb or so? I have never used a SSD before, just HD for my past builds.
I have built 2 computers before, so I do know what I'm doing *somewhat* haha
My budget it under $400, which I'm pretty sure I can do. (500 dollars AT MOST)
When I build it, I plan to document it step by step it with pictures and I will post it on a new threat once it is done.
IF ANYONE HAS ANY TIPS, RECOMMENDATIONS, SUGGESTIONS, OR COMMENTS, PLEASE POST THEM AND LET ME KNOW!! I want to hear peoples thoughts and opinons, since I have never done it before but I have seen many people do these builds online. ANY help would be GREATLY appriciated guys! Thanks!

PS, I'm also assuming I need to buy some power switch, reset switch, and LED, plug them in just as I would do with a computer that came in a regular case?

ahh I see what you mean. I'm thinking of getting a mini ATX mobo, its about 8 by 7 inches, so it will still be able to fit in it. But if I can find a mini ITX mobo with FM2 socket, I'll probably get that instead. You guys still think it will be fine with a mini ATX board?Ω

Also, how do you guys think the temp will be inside the case, with the power supply in there???
I plan to put a fan or 2 inside the case, and I want to mod the case so I install an exhaust fan at the top to take out some of the heat.
