Can I run two monitors on one DVI-I Port?

I was wondering if it was possible to have two monitors running on one Dual Link DVI-I Outputs on a GPU. I got the idea when thinking about how the DVI-I has a separate small port that carries the analog signal (at least that's how I understand it anyway), so would it be possible to have one monitor get the analog signal, and another monitor get the digital signal?

if you have 2 DVI outputs on your GPU, then you will have to use DVI to VGA adapters for two of your monitors. You'll then have to plug the DVI monitor into your HDMI port with a DVI to HDMI adapter. That's the only way I can see this setup working.

Ah, thank you.

Maybe you could tell me if what I am trying to do is possible though, I have two monitors that are both VGA, and one monitor that is DVI (three monitors all together) and I have two DVI-I outputs on my GPU, so would I be able to run all three monitors on my two DVI-I Outputs? (I plan to extend the desktop across all of them)

Thanks!
